PC On/Off Time displays usage time for your computer in a graphical representation over the period of three weeks without the need to begin logging. This is enabled by the use of a built-in feature of Windows OS. Features include the ability to display hours of operation allowing the user to view the times at which the PC was on, shut down or in standby mode. This free software also allows users to connect to PCs on a network to create log in and log off reports for them. Intended to be a timesheet tool, it allows users to plan a project and check up on the progress of others. Alternatively it can also be implemented at home where parents can keep a closer watch on the computer usage habits of children. Other problems that it may help identify include ties when the PC was accidentally left on thereby allowing you to conserve energy and ultimately reduce associated costs. Since the PC On/Off Time derives information from the event logs of the PC, it does not need to be run in the background at all times and take up valuable space. With no requirement for installation the software is entirely dependent on the event log embedded in the computer. This means that any missing information from your event log will result in incomplete data. The software currently does not record PC activities, require installation, write to the registry or modify files beyond its own directory. Other versions of PC On/Off Time include Pro and Net versions. These premium versions are not limited to three weeks and perform automatic backups. This means that they are not bound by the event log of the PC and provide complete information even if the event logs are lost or incomplete. It also allows the user to view the graphs of users on a particular network. It also allows you to export the log in and log off times on the PC. The correction of daylight savings time and lack of nag screens makes it user friendly for people looking for professional time tracking software.
